In response to government criticism, Anthropic and Amodei

Following a slew of scathing remarks about X by U.S. AI czar David Sacks, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei issued a statement reaffirming the company's dedication to collaborating with the U.S. and "American AI leadership." The specifics: To "set the record straight" on policy, Amodei emphasized the company's $200 million Department of War contract and extensive federal Claude access. To refute accusations of prejudice, the startup also cited studies that showed Claude exhibited less political tilt than rival models. Sacks and investor Reid Hoffman had a heated argument after Sacks described Anthropic as promoting "regulatory capture" to harm smaller competitors. Sacks also noted past comments from Amodei labeling Trump a “feudal warlord,” adding Anthropic positioned itself as a “foe” of the administration.
