OpenAI will now relax those restrictions with age checks and security measures. A new version of ChatGPT that operates more like what people enjoyed about 4o will be released first, and by December, erotica support will be added. Verified adults will have "a great deal of freedom" in how they engage with the AI as a result of being able to hold mature conversations with it. According to The Verge, the business had previously stated that developers could create "mature" apps that functioned inside ChatGPT with the proper age-gating and controls.
