Claude is brought straight into Excel using Anthropic
In addition to new connectors and skills for the financial sector, Anthropic recently debuted Claude for Excel in beta, allowing users to engage with the AI assistant through a sidebar that can read, analyze, and alter spreadsheets.
The specifics:
Claude may create new workbooks from start, correct calculations, add new data to templates, and explain spreadsheets thanks to the integration.
Claude is connected to seven new financial systems, such as Moody's for credit ratings, LSEG for real-time market data, and Aiera for earnings call transcripts.
Additionally, Anthropic introduced a number of additional Agent Skills tailored to the banking industry, such as creating cash flow models, company analysis, coverage reports, and more.
Prior to a wider release, Max, Enterprise, and Teams subscribers are receiving a sneak preview of Claude for Excel and the new Skills.
Over the past few months, AI for spreadsheets has gained a lot of attention, with ChatGPT, Copilot, and now Claude all promoting solutions. While the others have been more agent-focused, Claude's financial connectivity and native Excel access could add fresh dependability to a field still awaiting a real AI breakthrough.
