Adobe expands its use of AI for creatives at MAX
Conversational assistants, a new Firefly Image Model with enhanced functionality, increased access to third-party models, new video tools, and more were among the many AI enhancements that Adobe unveiled at its MAX conference.
The specifics:
AI assistants are used to create and edit images in Photoshop and Express. Adobe is also testing an agentic helper known as "Project Moonlight."
Along with new video capabilities including AI soundtracks, voiceovers, and editing tools, Firefly Image Model 5 comes with "Prompt to Edit" for conversational editing.
Additionally, Firefly will enable bespoke image models, enabling artists to customize outputs by training with their own work.
Gemini, Veo, and Imagen join Adobe's ecosystem through new collaborations with Google Cloud and YouTube, while Premiere's editing capabilities are moving to Shorts.
Adobe's decision to become an open layer on top of the best models in the business is a smart step for the long-standing creative behemoth. Adobe can include the best aspects of the best independent creative platforms available now into an existing well-known and well-liked tool ecosystem with the help of assistants and upcoming agentic capabilities.
